FAO Parent/Carer of students in Year 7 attending Blackland Farm trip
The Blackland Farm trip is fast approaching, and I would like to invite you to a parents’ meeting on Thursday 26th May 2022 from 6-7pm in the MAIN HALL at Shoreham Academy.
At the meeting, I will provide information about activities during the trip, talk about expectations regarding behavior and inform you of the items your child will need to bring. Copies of the essential kit list will be available on the evening, which will enable you to obtain anything you may need over the half term break.
If your child has any special dietary requirements or medical conditions, e.g. asthma, I will welcome any instructions and requests at this stage.
Students are encouraged to join you at the meeting, as they will be asked to complete a form indicating whom they would like to share a tent with and whom they would like to be with during the activities. I will then endeavor to ensure students are sleeping / taking part in activities with at least one other person who they have asked to be with. Please note, as far as possible, the tents will be in school groups. This is so staff can manage three separate sleeping / cooking areas at the campsite due to the large number of students going, (we are all on the same field).
The deadline for final payment is Thursday 30th June. Please ensure you have paid in full for the trip by this date. If there are any outstanding payments before July then your child will not be able to attend the trip.
