The core thread running through your Ticket to College activities and tasks will be the bridging work set by the Sixth Form teachers at Shoreham Academy. It is important that this time is used as a preparation period for the next phase of learning, be it A Levels or vocational courses. This work will involve a range of tasks including reading, note taking, completing questions and exercises. This will help you to consolidate what you have learned from GCSE as well as introducing some of the new topics, concepts, ideas and skills which you will need to succeed at A Level and BTEC. It is designed to support you, but also to enable you to be excited and engrossed in your courses before they even begin. Bridging work packs will be specific to each of the courses that are taught at Shoreham Sixth Form. We really encourage you to get in touch with your new teachers and curriculum leads if you are having any challenges with the Bridging Work, and to bring the work into your first lessons in September.
Preparation for College Pack
Alongside this core Bridging Work, we also ask student to complete the Preparation for College Pack. All of these resources can also be found on the academy website.
