FAO Year 7Parents/Carers

We have been pleased to see how well our new students have settled into life at Shoreham Academy. They really have taken everything in their stride, and it has been a pleasure to watch them make the transition to secondary school so confidently. This term is already flying by and we will be at October half term before we know it.  Before then, we would like to invite you to a virtual “Settling in Evening” that will take place on Thursday 22nd October at 5.30pm. This will be run through Microsoft Teams, you can find the link below and on the school website.

Link to live event: CLICK HERE

As with previous events you do not need to download Microsoft Teams, the simplest way is to select ‘watch on the web instead’ and then ‘join anonymously’. Note that if you are using a mobile phone to access the event you will need to download the Microsoft Teams App to join. You can add questions via the Q&A feature during the event

If you need any guidance on participating in the Microsoft Live Teams Event then please click on Microsoft’s instructional video here. If for any reason the above link to the event does not work for you then please copy this link into an Internet browser:

The event will last approximately 1 hour and will include information from me on how to use firefly, what homework your child should be completing and how you can help your child prepare for their first exam week coming up on the 7th December. There will then be further presentations by the Curriculum Leaders of English, Maths and Ebacc. As with previous live events, there will be the opportunity to ask questions throughout.

We will be sending student books from Maths, English and Ebacc home over half term, please do take the opportunity to look through them. If there are any questions as a result of this, then please contact their individual class teacher.

We look forward to “seeing” you on the 22nd October, if you are unable to watch this event live there will be a recording placed on the school website the following day
