Year 10 student Ailsa, has developed a strong interest in drama, dance, and performance over the years through a variety of experiences both in and out of school. Starting with school nativity plays and local pantomimes, she gradually became involved in theatre groups, taking on roles in productions such as Matilda, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and will soon appear as Tallulah in Bugsy Malone.
One of the experiences she values most is her involvement with The Flying Seagull Project - a charity that uses performance to bring joy to children in difficult circumstances. Over the past couple of summers, Ailsa has performed at music festivals across the UK as a clown and acrobat under the stage name ‘Sprocket’, including opening the main stage at Big Feastival for two consecutive years.
She has also performed with her family in their show ‘Random Acts of Nonsense’ at the Brighton Fringe Festival, raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support in both 2019 and 2022.
Outside of performing, Ailsa is active in sports and extracurricular activities. Her dedication led to her being named ‘Sportswoman of the Year’ in Year 9 and taking on the role of student leader.
