This year has been nothing short of exceptional for Year 9 student, Josh Henry, who has balanced his studies at Shoreham Academy with a hugely successful football season for both Chelsea FC and the England national team.
Over the Easter break, Josh represented England in Croatia, where he contributed two key assists and showcased his talent on an international pitch. With Chelsea, he played a part in winning the National Super Cup just before May half-term, before travelling to Belgium to compete in the prestigious Kevin De Bruyne Cup - helping the team to two clean sheets in three matches.
His performances throughout the season have contributed to a brilliant run of success for Chelsea and England, with the teams lifting:
- National Cup South
- National Super Cup
- Floodlit Cup South
Josh has shown incredible commitment, not just in football, but in how he has handled school life alongside his sporting career. He has consistently demonstrated great sportsmanship, hard work, and integrity - values that have made him a role model and are key within our school community.
We’re sad that Josh will now be leaving Shoreham Academy to take up a full-time place at Chelsea FC. While we’ll miss him greatly, we are immensely proud of everything he has achieved and are excited to see what the future holds for him and his career.
Josh - we wish you every success in the next stage of your journey.
