Extended school activities

We believe that extracurricular activities are an essential part of a well-rounded education.  Throughout the academy, students are actively encouraged to take part in these activities, which take place during lunch breaks, at the end of the academy day and during the holidays.

Extracurricular activities include:

·        Drama and music clubs

·        Individual and group tuition in music provided by specialist teachers

·        Sports teams and clubs

·        The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme

·        Trips to theatres, museums and universities

·        Academy stage productions.

We also run a comprehensive programme of careers and further education advice.  Through one-to-one sessions with career advisors, work experience placements at local businesses and visits to universities, we make sure students have a good understanding of the options open to them.  Whatever path students choose to follow, we support them in progressing to the next stage by offering help with writing CVs, UCAS statements and interview practice.
