Careers & HE Fair - Inspiring Futures and Next Steps

Last Friday we hosted our annual Careers and Higher Education Fair, welcoming over 30 employers, universities and training providers into school. From Shoreham Port and Rolls Royce to the University Campus of Football Business, Octopus Energy, Bayer, Sussex and Brighton University and many more, each gave their time to help our students explore future opportunities.

It was great to see students, some a little nervous at first, finding the confidence to ask thoughtful questions - sometimes with friends, sometimes on their own. Many left with new ideas, useful information and even goodie bags kindly provided by Paldone (a special thank you to SA parent Nina Mansell).

One of our visitors from Unity Insurance said, “It was great to see their confidence build during the course of the morning as they broke the ice and it was lovely to chat with so many polite young people.”
Octopus Energy also commented, “Your students are so wonderful, it makes our job easy!”

Events like this are particularly valuable for our Year 10 students, who are starting to think about what comes after Year 11. Having real conversations with employers and universities helps turn questions into plans, and builds confidence along the way.
