Library

LIBRARIAN:               Miss Rachel-Amelia Johnson ILS

                                  2003 - Present Day

OUR ETHOS:

We at Shoreham Academy believe the most important thing we can teach children today is a love of reading for pleasure. With so much emphasis on learning, reading for pleasure seems to have been left behind as a treat only for the very young. It is because of this that we feel the Library should be at the centre of every school and community. It should be a hub for learning, and a place where reading is positively and actively promoted. A centre where new technologies and book-based resources complement and reflect each other and in the case of a school library, complement the current curriculum, meeting the needs of all children, adults, students and teachers, and where an  "open-door policy" welcomes everyone.

DAY TO DAY:

The Library is open Monday to Friday, every break and lunchtime, before and after school, for all students and staff.
