Shoreham Academy has a vibrant and dedicated English department. The department consists of nine professional and experienced English teachers and three dedicated teaching assistants. At Shoreham Academy we believe that English plays an important role in making the curriculum accessible to students. After all, English is the medium of every subject and is therefore inseparable from the idea of making the curriculum inclusive for all. That is why Shoreham Academy has English as its specialism. This means that at Shoreham Academy we have a particular focus on literacy skills which has proven to be very successful. With this focus on literacy skills there has been a 16% improvement on the previous year with 71 % of students gaining an A*-C in English.
